Steps in Repairing the Felt Roof

- First of all, gather all the necessary materials such as a claw hammer, wood, ply bar, nails, wood preservative, felt, paint brush, utility knife, galvanized nails, step ladder, waterproof mastic seal, goggles and gloves. It is important to be properly geared for the procedure by using goggles and gloves to prevent the grit of the felt from coming into contact with the hands or eyes. Meanwhile, the stepladder is useful for fixing the roof as your weight might cause the roof to collapse during the procedure.
- Check the destruction on the roof the remove all the nails which are holding down the old felt. Make use of a small pry bar or clay hammer. Inspect the condition of the wood as you take off the old felt.
